YEAH!!! Once in while you see something on YouTube, TV, Social Media and think “I gotta try this!” I don’t know about you, but I get these overwhelming urges to do all of the DIY projects around the house. For instance, my wall needs more picture frames but I want them to be unique. I need to hang more art on the walls. The kitchen could use some country charm. The garden needs some pizzaz. And off you go your mind racing with ideas on how to make your house, your home.
I know that I’d like to make another mosaic tile table, finish a few quilts, paint some stepping stones for the backyard, help my sister refinish a piece of furniture. When we get these marathons of ideas going sometimes it’s best to write them all down and take a closer look. Which one of these ideas can I complete? How much will each of these projects cost? How much time will I need to complete the project? The worst thing that can happen is we take on too much, never complete a project, and we feel that we have accomplished nothing. I know. I am one of those people. I have a closet of lost projects and ideas never finished waiting for the day I will come back and revisit them. But I never do, or I look at them and say “What was I thinking?”
I am here to tell you, you are not alone. I too get enthralled when asked to come up with a creative solution for a project. Or decided one day I AM gonna build that massive clubhouse out of cardboard and it is going to have an attached two car garage! (“Carpe Diem!!!” as you shout from the top of lungs!) When inspiration strikes, write in down! Be consumed by the moment of pure happiness, relish the feeling that your concept will become reality. It is the little things that make us happy. And having little or big creative victories makes it even better.
So I have made my list, how about you? I am pumped up, excited and ready to go! Are you ready to tackle your creative ideas and make them come to fruition? Awesome! Get your paints, tape, tools, get all your supplies it’s going to be a great journey!
Artfully yours,
Andi
